Mananiya Shri Jayant Sahasrabudhe Ji माननीय श्री जयंत सहस्रबुद्धे जी

Mananiya Shri Jayant Sahasrabudhe Ji served as the National Organising Secretary of Vigyan Bharati (VIBHA) from 2009, steering the organisation through its growth into one of India's largest grassroots science organizations. Under his guidance, VIBHA expanded from a handful of prants into a nationwide network connecting scientists, teachers, students and citizens in the common pursuit of scientific temper and self-reliance.

He was the driving force behind Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) — India's largest science talent-search examination for school students, conducted jointly with NCERT and the National Council of Science Museums — which today reaches lakhs of students every year, including here in Awadh Vigyan Bharati. He was equally instrumental in conceiving and nurturing the India International Science Festival (IISF), now India's largest annual science celebration, and the Bharatiya Vigyan Sammelan, both built to bring scientists, students, industry, artisans and policymakers onto one platform.

Mananiya Shri Jayant Sahasrabudhe Ji's vision extended well beyond any single programme. He championed Tech for Seva, which connects India's technologists with grassroots social problems; the World Ayurveda Foundation and NASYA, working to strengthen and globally propagate Ayurveda; and the GIST (Global Indian Scientists & Technocrats) Forum, which brings the Indian scientific diaspora into the national science effort. He also co-authored Adbhut Pakshi Vishwa, reflecting his lifelong curiosity about the natural world alongside his organisational work.

Mananiya Shri Jayant Sahasrabudhe Ji passed away on 2 June 2023, leaving behind an extraordinary institutional legacy that continues through the many programmes, entities and prants of Vigyan Bharati — including the work carried forward every day by Awadh Vigyan Bharati.
